Biography

My name is Joseph Nathan Ellenburg. I am married to Janna, the best thing that ever happened to me this side of heaven. We have two beautiful girls, Emily and Caitlyn. We live in the Gill community just south of Marshall, Texas and are members of Friendship Baptist Church in the Gill community. I am a graduate of East Texas Baptist University. I am currently teaching resource math and spelling at Waskom Elementary in Waskom, Texas.

My Dad shared the plan of salvation with me one evening in the kitchen of my childhood home, and I went to my bedroom, got on knees and asked Jesus Christ to come in my heart.

I have sung all my life in church. I graduated High School and went off to college, but it wasn’t until 1992 that I was bit by the Southern Gospel bug. I started singing with a country gospel band from Palestine, Texas called “The Overall Gospel Express” from 1992 to 1993. Then in 1994, while still at college, I joined another group from DeBerry, Texas called “The Master’s Quartet.” I sang with them until 1995. While I was with the Master’s, I attended Stamps Baxter School of Music for two summers. After that I sang in a trio from Marshall called Canaanland. I stayed there from 1996 to 1999. In October of 1999, I co-founded the Southern Harmony Boys which lasted until 2007. So for the past 15 years, the Lord has allowed me to sing what I think is the greatest music on the face of the earth, Gospel music.

I have had the privilege of sharing the stage with these professional artists:

Dove Brothers, Dixie Echoes, Mark Trammell Trio, Chuck Wagon Gang, The Hemphills, The Greenes, Ivan Parker, Aaron Wilburn, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, The Inspirations, The Hoppers, The Kingsmen, Greater Vision, Palmetto State Quartet, The Relations Quartet, Melody Boys Quartet, Dixie Melody Boys, Jerry Clower, Squire Parsons, & The Talley Trio.
